Marske By The Sea Cleveland England. A seaside
fishing Village situated on the edge of the North Yorkshire
Moors. Renounced for Captain Cooks Family Church St Germains,
where his Parent's were laid to rest. Also in the area is
the smallest Church in the U K, Marske Hall which was the
Family seat of William Pennymann who defeated Cromwell on
the beaches of Marske.
Marske marshes was were the early Brits made there last stand
against William the Conquerer.
In 1844 Charles Dickens visited Marske to see the unusual
vaulted roof constructed on the three towers at Marske Hall.
The First World war saw a big increase in population due to
the army camps and the airfield. The airfield is where the
Biggles books were written.
