HA'PENNY BRIDGE, Saltburn
. Construction started in 1868 and completed in 1869. Due to lack of funds it was demolished on December the 17th 1974, as shown in the pictures. It was funded by Mr. Wharton,who lived in Skelton Castle, to utilities the land on the east side of the Glen. But this never materialised since the bridge was unsuitable for motor traffic.
