Saltburn Pier and Cliff Lift.
The Pier was constructed in 17 months and opened in May 1869, it is the only remaining pier on the Northeast coast. It had extensive repair's carried out in the year 2000 -2001. The Cliff lift was opened on the second of June 1884 . It is the oldest water balanced lift in the Country using 30000 and 18500 gallons of water respectively to transport 12 people up and down the cliff. This lift replaced the Vertical lift which was opened in July 1870.
